I’m not a winter hater, but I can’t say I love it as much as I used to. When it gets to seeming long, it helps to remember how terrific summer is in Wisconsin, especially in Madison. Summers here are packed with music, and what can be better than listening to music in a beautiful outside setting? Actually, there is one thing: playing music in that setting.
I recently found a review of last summer’s Atwood Fest by former Madison Arts critic Kevin Lynch. He was kind enough to give us some ink and I clipped that section and pasted it below (click here for the whole article). Our group, Inside Pocket, had a lot of fun last summer playing Atwood Fest, Memorial Union Terrace, Segoe Park, and a host of other outside gigs. Looking at that picture makes me remember how great it was, and how I hope we get to do it all again.
